In the 1960s, Chrysler decided they wanted to make a more economic vehicle for the everyday man to stay relevant with their competitors Chevrolet and Ford and created the Plymouth Barracuda. Then the muscle pony car era began. The name Cuda was reserved for the top performing racing cars that were built from the third generation Barracuda, but that is the only detail they share. The Hemi V8 with the shaker hood scoop made this muscle car look fierce against the other pony cars as they competed for the finish line. Considered one of the most sought after muscle cars in the world, the Cuda didn't want to compromise its powers for emissions so they just stopped making them, making them a rare gem. The Hemi Cuda did see some success racing in the US Trans-Am Series, earning some pole positions, this specific car was one of four that raced in Europe for Chrysler France.
